41 Jane Street was built in 1915, as the records indicate, but some sources suggest it was actually erected in the late 1800’s. Converted to Co-op in 1984, this 5 story building consists of 18 one-bedroom and studio apartments. The building has a laundry room and storage in the basement and residents of 41 Jane are given a key to the Jane Street Garden, which is a beautiful landscaped garden across the street. Jane Street is one of the most highly desired blocks, not only in the West Village, but in the entire city. A historic landmark block, Jane Street possesses a long history and was even known as “Author’s Row,” being a home to a number of published authors. The location is very convenient to transportation, being very close to the A,C,E,L,1,2,3 trains and also is right around the corner from the south entrance to the Highline Park.
